Quantity

+/- 60g

Instructions

Chill the wax in the refrigerator to make cutting or grating easier.

It is not necessary to turn the fabric inside out as the wax will naturally melt through the fabric. Wax liquefies at 80°C (176°F) and can cause burns. Handle with care using oven mitts or tongs.

Store unused portion of wax in its packaging in a cool, dry place.

To make reusable fabrics

Iron Method

  • Place a piece of parchment paper slightly larger than your cotton fabric on your work surface.
  • Place the fabric on the parchment paper.
  • Cut a cube of wax into small pieces and spread them evenly over the fabric. Leave some space around the edges to prevent the wax from spilling over.
  • Preheat the iron to medium heat.
  • Cover the fabric with another sheet of parchment paper.
  • Slowly press the iron onto the parchment paper while sliding it. The wax will gradually melt into the fabric and distribute evenly.
  • Once the wax is melted, slowly lift the parchment paper.
  • Hang the fabric to dry completely.

Conventional oven method

  • Preheat the oven to 80°C (176°F).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Refreshing an existing wax sheet

  1. Place the waxed cotton cloth in the center of the plate.
  2. Place the plate in the oven and heat for 5 minutes to soften the existing wax.
  3. Remove the baking tray from the oven. If necessary, add a little freshly cut wax into small pieces to the fabric to fill in the damaged areas, leaving space along the edges.
  4. Spread the melted wax evenly using a brush.

Create a new wax sheet

  1. Place a piece of cotton cloth in the center of the plate.
  2. Evenly distribute pieces of wax over the top of the fabric, taking care to leave space along the edges to avoid bleed-through.
  3. Place the plate in the oven and let the wax melt completely.
  4. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and, using a brush, spread the melted wax to cover the entire surface of the fabric.
  5. Allow to cool completely before handling.

Natural beeswax: a must-have for your DIY projects

Natural, 100% pure beeswax is a versatile ingredient perfect for a multitude of DIY projects. It is ideal for making candles, soaps, cosmetics or even for treating and protecting the wood in your home. With its soft sweet aroma and natural color, which can vary slightly depending on the harvest, it adds an authentic and warm touch to all your craft creations.

To embed beeswax into cotton fabric, you can use the iron method. Place a piece of parchment paper slightly larger than the fabric on your work surface, then lay the fabric on top. Cut a cube of wax into small pieces and spread them evenly over the fabric, leaving space around the edges to prevent bleed-through. Preheat an iron to medium heat, cover the fabric with another sheet of parchment paper, then slowly press the iron down as you glide it. The wax will gradually melt and spread evenly throughout the fabric. When finished, carefully lift the parchment paper and hang the fabric to dry completely.

Another method is to use a conventional oven. Preheat the oven to 80°C (176°F) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If you want to refresh an existing wax sheet, place the waxed cloth in the center of the sheet and heat it for five minutes to soften the wax. Once removed from the oven, add more fresh wax if necessary to fill in any damaged areas, then spread the melted wax with a brush. To create a new wax sheet, place a piece of cotton cloth in the center of the sheet, add more wax pieces evenly to the cloth, and allow the wax to melt completely. Using a brush, spread the melted wax to cover the entire surface, then allow to cool before handling.

This beeswax is sold in blocks of 60 g (+/-), an ideal quantity for creative projects or for touch-ups. Easy to store, it can be kept in a cool, dry place at room temperature.

Versatile and natural, beeswax is a must-have for those who want to adopt ecological and artisanal practices. Whether it is to create reusable food packaging, make cosmetics or candles, or maintain wood, it fits perfectly into an approach that respects the environment and natural resources.
