Alpaca Wool Soap Bar: Savons Marino x Ferme Toudou
A soap wrapped in alpaca wool that lasts 5 times longer and gently exfoliates with every use. The magic of Quebecois felting.
There are soaps. And then there are the alpaca wool felted soaps from Ferme Toudou.
This artisanal Quebecois soap was born from a wonderful collaboration between Savons Marino and Ferme Toudou. Its secret? A high-quality artisanal soap, wrapped by hand in several layers of alpaca wool, then gently felted in water for about twenty minutes so that the wool is securely fixed around the soap.
The result is both practical and remarkable: you wash directly with this felted soap to benefit from its natural and gentle exfoliating effect, without the need for a mitt or wash mitt. The alpaca wool gently exfoliates, stimulates circulation, and leaves the skin soft and clean. And thanks to the wool wrap that regulates moisture and protects the soap between uses, its lifespan is multiplied by 5 compared to an ordinary soap.
At the end of its life, the recovered felted wool can continue to exfoliate the skin or be used to scrub dishes. Zero waste, from the first use to the last.
💚 Why we love it
- Alpaca wool from Ferme Toudou: gentle natural exfoliation with every use
- Lifespan multiplied by 5 thanks to felting: a concrete eco-responsible gesture
- Wool that can be recovered at the end of its life to exfoliate or scrub
- Rich formula: olive oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, and beeswax
- Two variants: Bouquet Fleuri (floral and delicate) and Boréal (forest-like and deep)
- Handmade in Quebec by Savons Marino in collaboration with Ferme Toudou
The two variants
Bouquet Fleuri
Delicate, floral, and enveloping. A blend of essential oils of true lavender, ylang-ylang, and geranium, complemented by jasmine and gardenia fragrances, creates a scent reminiscent of a freshly picked bouquet of flowers. For those who like their shower time to smell like spring.
Boréal
Deep, forest-like, and soothing. A blend of boreal essential oils from a local distillery, Le Boisé de St-Gilbert: cedar, balsam fir, rosemary, white pine, and black spruce. For nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and everyone who wants to bring the forest into their bathroom.
Use
Wet the felted soap and wash directly with it, using gentle circular motions to benefit from the exfoliating effect of the alpaca wool. Rinse with water. Place the soap on a draining soap dish between uses to allow it to dry completely. At the end of its life, recover the felted wool to continue exfoliating the skin or scrubbing dishes.

Frequently Asked Questions: Marino Felted Soap
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What is a felted soap and how does it work? | A felted soap is an artisanal soap wrapped by hand in several layers of wool, then gently felted in water for about twenty minutes so that the wool is securely fixed around the soap. You wash directly with it for its natural exfoliating effect, and the wool wrap protects the soap between uses, multiplying its lifespan by 5. |
| Why does alpaca wool multiply the lifespan of the soap? | Alpaca wool acts as a natural barrier around the soap: it regulates moisture, protects the soap from standing water, and slows its dissolution. Result: a felted soap lasts on average 5 times longer than an ordinary soap of the same size, making it both an economical and eco-responsible option. |
| Is the exfoliating effect of alpaca wool too strong for sensitive skin? | Alpaca wool is one of the softest natural fibers there is. Its exfoliating effect is light and gradual, very different from an abrasive scrub. It is suitable for most skin types for daily use. For very sensitive skin, start with particularly gentle motions and observe the skin's reaction. |
| What to do with the felted wool at the end of the soap's life? | Once the soap is completely used, the recovered felted wool can continue to exfoliate the skin like a natural bath mitt, or be used to scrub dishes thanks to its slightly abrasive texture. Nothing is thrown away. |
| Is the visual appearance always the same? | No, and that is its beauty. Since each soap is handmade, the visual appearance may vary depending on inspiration and the season. Each bar is unique, as an authentic artisanal object should be. |
| Are these soaps suitable for the face and body? | Yes. Both variants are formulated for the body and face. Their base rich in olive oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter makes them moisturizing and nourishing for all areas of the body. |
